“Low staff motivation”, “skills shortage”, “seasonal workers” or “poor service quality” are keywords that drive hotel managers to despair. Employees that are unfriendly, not motivated, do not deliver the expected service quality or quit their job as soon as possible pose a serious threat to the success of a hotel business. After completing the first phase of this project, the need for trainings in the Tunisian hotel industry was identified. Together with Thomas Cook, COMPASS is currently working on a corresponding training concept considering the results from the previous workshops.
The Hambach Castle is THE symbol for the democratic movement in Germany in the 19th century. In 1832, about 30.000 citizens and revolutionaries from different European countries met here to prevail their democratic beliefs and thoughts towards the authorities. Today the “Feast of Hambach” is one of the most important milestones of Europe’s democratization.
Contributing to Germanys´ goal on climate change, the project “Katzensprung” aims at improving its image as a sustainable travel destination.
Tortoise- projects in Galapagos, nature adventures in an US-national park, watching wildlife in an eco-resort in South Africa: the demand for sustainable travel experiences has increased steadily over the last decades. According to a current study of the Federal Ministry for the Environment, about 20 million Germans attach importance to socially and ecologically sustainable travel offers. Especially young travelers in Germany are interested in more sustainable options for their holiday journeys. Nevertheless, they still take long distance-journeys because Germany is neither popular as a sustainable tourism destination nor regarded as an exciting place for active nature experiences.
