Research project completed – but it continues!

After a year of research time, we can now proudly present the final publication of the federal study “Regional building culture and tourism”. Together with our partner HJPplaner and the Federal Institute for Building, Urban Affairs and Spatial Development (BBSR), we officially introduced the publication on 6 March at ITB Berlin.

It not only contains strategies and case studies from Germany and other European regions, but also suggestions to make the interaction between building culture in rural areas and tourism development successfully.

The key message: Good Building has a dual function. On the one hand, it can serve as a quality label in tourism and can contribute to a better quality of life in the countryside, on the other hand tourism demand can be used to produce more quality of construction in rural areas. It therefore makes sense to bring together the fields of building culture and tourism in order to stimulate sustainable regional development.

However, after completion of the project, the subject does not disappear in the drawer, but will be further worked on. The research group HJPplaner / COMPASS GmbH supports destinations, organizations and companies in developing policies and plans together with the responsible building culture actors. In addition, we are present at various events / symposia to inform about the subject and the study.

The publication provides initial approaches, how the collaboration between the parties can be improved. The page www.baukultour.de also serves as a platform for information and exchange.

We are still at the beginning but will continue!
